Full-Service Landcape Design & Installation
Paul started working as a designer for a garden centre in the early 90’s.
Over the years, he progressed to offer property installations for smaller designs.
As the business grew, so did our jobs. We relocated to Dutch Settlement in 2000, and in 2014 moved to a larger site in Shubenacadie.
We can now tackle almost any landscaping project.

As a graduate of the Landscape Horticulture program at the Agricultural College in Truro, the past president of Landscape Nova Scotia, and a Red Seal member of the Canadian National Landscape Association, plus over 30 years of professional experience, you know your landscape design and professional installations will be done right, each and every time.

The Consultation
A Personalized Approach
I strive to take a personalized approach with all I do.
When you are considering enhancing your outdoor space, it is not always easy to visualize what your options are, and what will work for you.
Your choices need to suit your property, your budget, and your lifestyle.
I take the time to get to know you first, what your tastes are, and what your lifestyle looks like now and in the future.
Your input is especially important at the beginning of the planning stage to achieve a comprehensive plan that can be professionally implemented.
Taking the time up front to discuss all your options, present and future, allows me to customize the recommendations that will best suit your lifestyle. This way, when you choose how you want to move forward, you can be confident the result will serve you for years to come.
An Honest Approach
I know what I can and cannot do, and will not take on a project beyond my scope of expertise .
When your design needs a service beyond my teams expertise, I will either recommend reputable contractors or work with them directly to complete your project.
In addition, I will let you know upfront if any of the ideas on your wishlist are not going to work well with your property, lifestyle or budget. If this is the case, I will work with you to suggest similar ideas that are more appropriate for your situation.

Unfortunately, many of our clients come to us to fix landscape design decisions that only worked short term, which only ended up costing more long term, not to mention the grief and headache that came with the decision.
Often, that cost is enough to do the project 2-3 times over.

The Design
A Customized Blueprint
After your initial consultation, I will create a customized landscape design which will be a detailed blueprint to scale. Once completed, I will schedule a time to deliver the blueprint and go over it with you thoroughly.
DIY or Professional Installation
This detailed design has all the information you need, including the amounts and types of materials and plants, which enables you to do the work yourself, have us or another landscaping company do it, or maybe you have a friend or family member that wants to do it. The choice is yours.
Either way, you start with a professional, to scale plan that will not lead to any surprises.
Landscape installation projects can be divided and completed in phases
I think we can agree that we all want instant results, but sometimes, doing a full landscape design over time can work best.
This allows you to manage your time, your budget, and makes it easier to allow for adjustments or changes along the way (such as adding a feature like a hot tub, swimming pool, or gazebo etc.).

The Installation
IF you already have a design
You will be provided with a quote and timeline of your landscape design installation.
Since I am personally overlooking all of MacPhee’s Landscaping installations, it is best if you book your installation early so that we can schedule your project at your convenience.
IF you know exactly what you want
You may not have a design, but you know exactly what you need.
Fantastic! I will first provide you with an installation estimate. Once you choose to move forward, my team and I will start your project at a time that suits both of our schedules.
